Press one if you are in need of anger management

New proof of how I am a control freak has recently surfaced. Yesterday, we went out and bought a new TV (more on that in a later post), a huge ass LCD TV with full HD and all that shazzam because apparently full HD is very important and HD-Ready is just utter crap and we CAN. NOT. HAVE IT.

So anyway, huge ass TV is brought home and carried up into the living room (I watched), and while Tor proceeds to hook it up, I take a look at the manual. And EGADS, the manual says PLASMA TV, which also is something that we CAN. NOT. HAVE. (and I totally agree because I read somewhere that Plasma TVs use a whole lot more power to run, and we’re trying to keep the electricity bills down).

Tor takes it easy. He tells me that honey, calm down, obviously they just gave us the wrong manual because we bought an unboxed model (NOK 4000 discount ftw). And I’m all NO, NO! They might have given us the right manual AND THE WRONG TV. So I proceed to call customer support and snarl at the automated voice telling me to press ooooneeee iiiif Iiiii waaant toooo heeeear iiif myyy stoooreee stooockssss a ceeeertaaain proooduuuuct, press twoooo iiiiif… Ok, you get my point. I press two because I have already bought a product. WRONG. Line goes silent. Voice starts again with press ooooneeee… I yell at it. Press two again. Line goes silent. Wait. Wait some more. Lousy music. Annoying voice tells me in a much too cheery voice that they will talk to me SOON! and that if I want I can go online and just find my answer there. I yell at it. Guy picks up, he’s Swedish. Swedish customer support guy tells me that hey, calm down, we just got you the wrong manual because you bought an unboxed TV.

I hang up, and breathe.
