Wireless lovin’
Have I ever mentioned how much I love wireless networking? Because I do.
We first got a wireless router ages ago, to connect the PSP to the internet and download updates for it. Then we got the Wii, and got that connected as well. And then, finally, we bought the laptops, and got rid of cabled network altogether. And let me tell you, it was such a relief!
We were a bit apprehensive when we moved though, because whereas our old apartment was about 75 square meters in size, and all on the same floor, our new house would be almost twice the size, divided between three floors. It did work though, but a couple of months after moving in, our wireless router kicked the bucket. We got a new one, and it’s been flowing smoothly ever since.
However! We have some issues with the speed sometimes, and I don’t think it’s the cable modem that has issues. It’s especially evident in the basement, because the wireless router is located on the top floor. I don’t know if anything can help with this, I’m not sure a mobile router is the thing for us. So we’ll just have to live with it, probably. A small price to pay for not having to have cables all over the house.
A little aside: Do you think of Windows 95 when you hear Buddy Holly by Weezer? I sure do.
